I started solo hiking regularly in May 2023, starting off with smaller trails in Connecticut but have challenged myself with long-distance CT blue trails and climbed several mountains in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. I lost 50 pounds within six-months though a better diet and hiking once or twice a week. I have sectioned hiked the Appalachian Trail in CT/MA but will be planning a thru-hike to do the AT from the New York border to Vermont. I am also planning more thru-hikes in northern New England and climbing Mount Washington by summer.
